Summer Riding Camp 2013

Our Summer camp is an excellent way to introduce your child to riding, and the responsibilities that come along with caring for horses.
Children will learn:

  • grooming
  • tack & equipment
  • basic veterinary care
  • safety skills
  • breeds & colors
  • management of horses

LEVELS - Children are grouped according to ages and abilities.  Each session will feature activities for riders at beginner and intermediate levels.

STAFF & SAFETY - As always, safety is a top concern at Skibbereen Farm.  The children are always under supervision of a knowledgable teacher, as well as numerous volunteers with horse experience. Each rider is required to wear a helmet (provided by the farm), long pants, and boots with a half inch heel whenever they are working around the horses.

"Young Rider Camp"
Specialized for 5 & 6 year olds

These sessions are the perfect way for the younger horse enthusiast to get an exciting start to riding.  Students are taught the very basics of riding and horse care through games and fun interactive activities. The day is slightly shorter, but is pack full of fun for this age group.
