STABLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Skibbereen Farm is open for business:

Monday- Closed
Tuesday/Wednesday- 9am-8pm
Thursday/Friday- 9am-7pm
Saturday/Sunday- 8am-4pm

No one is allowed on the premises when the stable is closed and management reserves the right to adjust hours as necessary.


  1. Smoking is not allowed on the premises whatsoever (including outside barns).

  2. There is no riding without proper attire including helmet and shoes with at least a 1/2" heel. Shorts, even under chaps, and sneakers are not proper attire. Hair should be pulled up neatly under an approved riding helmet or hunt cap.

  3. Anyone under the age of 18 is not to be left at stable without a guardian or someone from management present. No one is allowed to ride without someone from management present.

  4. There is no jumping whatsoever outside of a lesson with an instructor.

  5. Horses are allowed in barns, arena, paddocks only. There is to be no riding off the premises without permission.

  6. Horses are to be led by hand in and out of barns and arena, and should have stirrups rolled up on saddle and reins taken over the horses head. There is to be no riding on horseback in and out of barns and arena.

  7. Parking is allowed outside the gate only. There is to be no parking in and around stable area to keep the fire lane free of traffic. Driving past the carriage house gate is not permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the premises. The risk of damage to vehicle is assumed by the driver when dogs are left inside any vehicle on Skibbereen property.

  8. No one other than horse's owner or management should enter a horse's stall without permission. An owner's horse is not to be ridden by anyone other than the owner without authorization from management. There is to be no changing the riding list by anyone other than Chrissie, Molly, or Bill.

  9. The telephone is for business use only and and is not to be used without permission. Calls cost $.25 per call and money should be placed in the phone jar.

  10. The stable is to be kept neat and tidy and all equipment and supplies should be taken are of and put in their proper places after use. Equipment and blankets should not be left in the aisle or on the floor where people or horses can become entangled.

  11. No one is to enter the carriage house and/or office without permission from management.

  12. Employees, riders, and visitors shall conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. The safety of both horses and riders is always to be kept in mind. Anyone found acting in an inappropriate manner may be asked to leave the premises at any time.
